Nadi Astrology
Nadi Astrology, also known as Nadi Jothidam or Nadi Josiyam, is a type of Dharma astrology that is widely practiced across diverse regions in India. In ancient times, the Dharma sages had the ability to foresee the past, present, and future lives of individuals based solely on faith. This form of astrology is predominantly followed in southern India, particularly in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and neighboring areas. The Nadi palm leaves are used to identify individuals based on their thumb impressions – right for men and left for women. Each sign consists of 150 Nadis, with each sign representing 30 degrees on the 360-degree zodiac. The zodiac’s twelve signs can be classified into three categories: Movable (Chara), Fixed (Sthira), and Dual (Dvisvabhava) signs. Each type of sign is associated with a unique set of 150 Nadis, resulting in a total of 1800 Nadis within the 360 degrees.
Nadi astrology has been practiced for thousands of years, ever since the Saptharishis used their yogic powers to write on palm leaves. These Indian Sages were able to document the lives of both living and soon-to-be deceased individuals, and had the ability to glimpse into the past and future of the entire universe. The conversations with these sages involved writing on ancient Tamil script palm leaves, resulting in millions of leaves being dedicated to each person on Earth. However, it is important to note that only individuals with good karma are deemed worthy of receiving these sacred leaves.
The four Chara signs all have similar names and the same number of Nadis. The Sthira signs also have similar names and the same number of Nadis, but their numbering is typically different from Chara and Dvisvavhava. The Dvisvavhava signs have a different serializing system compared to Chara and Sthira, but they are nearly identical to each other.
