Nadi History
Nadi astrology, an ancient astrological practice, was carried out by Indian sages known as the Saptharishis. These wise individuals possessed the ability to access knowledge about the past and future of the entire universe, including the lives of all human beings. They documented their findings on palm leaves using an ancient Tamil script that can now only be interpreted by skilled Nadi astrologers.
The predictions on the leaves are pre-written and read by Nadi readers. Each person in the world may have millions of Nadi leaves written for them, but only those with the karma will receive their leaves. These palm leaves are not limited to Indian nationals or specific religions, they are available to foreigners and individuals of all creeds. It is the destiny of every individual to have their leaf identified and their predictions known.
Nadi astrology, also known as palm leaf reading, has its roots in ancient times, dating back thousands of years. According to legend, Indian sages or Rishis used their intuitive powers to record the life patterns of individuals on palm leaves. These extraordinary leaves were originally housed in the temple library until those with a keen interest in naadi astrology acquired them. This traditional practice has been passed down through generations.
Vaitheeswarankoil, located near Chidambaram in Tamil Nadu, is considered the primary hub for nadi astrology. It is believed that Lord Shiva, in the form of a ‘Vaidhya’ or ‘Doctor’, alleviated the sufferings of his followers here. The ancient palm leaf manuscripts were initially inscribed on animal skins and other leaves, but later transcriptions were made on palm leaves and preserved using oil derived from peacock’s blood.
